Christian Hunt

Christian graduated with a BA in Sociology, with a focus in Cultural Anthropology in 1991. Her interest in cultures & medicine began with researching her thesis which involved indigenous populations of the Brazilian and Venezuelan rain forests.

After graduation (and many ski towns later) she headed to massage school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was while in Santa Fe that she experienced acupuncture for the first time.

Within a month, the symptoms she was being treated for were completely relieved. She packed up her car & headed back east to open a massage practice & focus on the needed prerequisites to receive a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Christian has been doing massage since 2004, acupuncture & Chinese herbs since graduating from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine in 2001. She had the opportunity to work in clinics around Seattle for a couple of years, then opened Chopstix Acupuncture and Bodywork studio in 2003.

She loves owning her own business & continuously learning about this amazing form of healing. It’s her priority to continue studying acupuncture techniques, taking classes in research of Chinese herbal therapies & networking with fellow acupuncturists.

She believes it’s very important to refer patients to other health care providers if acupuncture or Chinese herbal therapies are not effective. She works closely with a variety of Naturopaths, Chiropractors, MD’s, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, therapists, Massage therapists, Nutritionists, Physical therapists, Personal Trainers, Yoga & Pilates practitioners to provide support in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Acupuncture has seen her through endometriosis, a car accident, competitive rowing, skiing injuries, anemia & just plain-old stress & fatigue.

“I hope to draw upon my experiences with acupuncture, Chinese herbs & massage therapies to promote health to all who enter Chopstix Acupuncture & Bodywork Studio.”
